Some Quick News/Injury Updates

Looking to revive an anemic offense that has scored only two touchdowns in three weeks, Oakland Raiders coach Lane Kiffin said Thursday Josh McCown will start Sunday against the Houston Texans according to Insidebayarea.com McCown started the first two games of the season before leaving at halftime of the Cleveland game with a broken toe. He was replaced by Daunte Culpepper, who was the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week for his performance against Miami in his first start, rushing three touchdowns and passing for two more. After the bye, the Raiders offense fell on hard times, scoring only two touchdowns in three games.

The Denver Broncos said rookie defensive end Jarvis Moss, a first-round pick in the 2007 draft, will miss the remainder of the season after he fractured his fibula and tore ankle ligaments in practice on Thursday. According to Profootballtalk.com coach Mike Shanahan labeled the injury a "kind of a freak accident.""He'll have surgery here in the next few days and it will be about a three- or four-month recovery time," Shanahan said. "It's very similar to the injury Cecil Sapp had, and he came back full speed. It happened in a nine-on-seven drill today."

The Houston Texans, who will play the Oakland Raiders on Sunday, say star wide receiver Andre Johnson will be day-to-day this week. Johnson, however, has indicated that most people are telling him to wait until after the bye week.
