Some Quick Halloween Rumors
The impressive streaks for New York Jets' receiver Laveranues Coles may end this Sunday. Coles, who sustained a concussion last week, did not practice Wednesday. He has played in 104 consecutive games and has caught at least one pass in 69 straight. Source: New York Times
Atlanta Falcons tight end Alge Crumpler, who missed the team's last game two weeks ago, might not play again this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers at the Georgia Dome. Crumpler, who's been suffering from an injured knee and ankle, did not practice Wednesday but ran a few routes and did some blocking on the side. Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Although Miami Dolphins coach Cam Cameron has not named rookie quarterback John Beck as the team's new starter, it certainly appears that the day will arrive very soon. Cameron said the snaps in practice will be "close to" a 50-50 split between Beck and Cleo Lemon, who has played the past four games in place of Trent Green. Source: South Florida Sun-Sentinel
Travis Henry was back practicing with the Denver Broncos Wednesday, so he likely will start Sunday against the Detroit Lions. But with the game being played on Ford Field's artificial surface, the Broncos probably will get speedy Selvin Young some touches. Young rushed 18 times for 71 yards and caught six passes for 49 yards while replacing rib-injured Henry against the Packers,. Source: Denver Post
