Vikings, Packers, After Frerotte?
The Green Bay Packers brought in quarterback Gus Frerotte for a visit and physical Tuesday, according to his agent, Marvin Demoff. Frerotte, who will turn 37 on July 31, is the second free agent the Packers have brought in as a possible candidate to back up new starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers. They've had former Jacksonville No. 3 quarterback Quinn Gray in for a visit. Frerotte was scheduled to visit the Minnesota Vikings today. The Packers are considering several avenues to acquire a No. 2 quarterback, including free agency. Frerotte has 82 NFL starts in his 14 previous seasons but has been a backup for the past seven years with the exception of 2005, when he started 15 games for Miami.
