Eagles Will Either Sign, Or Tag Smith
There has been speculation that the Philadelphia Eagles will prevent tight end L.J. Smith from becoming a free agent by franchising him for $4.522 million in 2008 the Philadelphia Daily News reported. Quarterback Donovan McNabb said he would like to see Smith back, recovered from the injuries that cost him most of the season. "He's a big part of our offense," McNabb said.

Bad move. Hes been a big disappointment ever since he was drafted. For a team so dependant on the TE position, I'd have to rank the Eagles at the bottom of the division in terms of talent at TE. I'd take Witten, Shockey, or Cooley over LJ. So much for drafting Fred Davis from USC, or the kid from Notre Dame.
